Guy Penrod Takes a Sabbatical?

(10/2/08 - Alexandria, Indiana) Gaither Music announced today that Gaither Vocal Band lead singer, Guy Penrod, will be taking a sabbatical from the Homecoming Tour for a few weeks. He has been singing and traveling full-time with the Gaither Vocal Band since 1994 and his faithfulness throughout that time is being honored with some much-deserved rest and personal time. Guy will spend these weeks resting, enjoying his family and recharging physically, emotionally and spiritually. The Vocal Band will be assisted by distinguished GVB alumni Mark Lowry and David Phelps, as well as young vocal sensation, Jason Crabb, who will alternately cover Guy's vocal part during the next few weeks. As always, the Gaither organization is committed to creating an unparalleled concert experience for ticket holders and anticipates that these three gifted artists will contribute an extraordinary element to the Homecoming program during Guy's temporary absence."Guy has a tremendous following of friends and fans around the world who care about his well-being," Bill Gaither expressed, "So the Homecoming family extends our sincere thanks in advance for fans' support of this decision to give our friend some time off.""Guy is more than a big voice on whom the Vocal Band relies heavily," he added. "He is first a father, husband and friend and honestly, this time of rest was my idea because I love him and I know that our busy lives rarely offer the opportunity to look after our own needs. I look at this sabbatical as a gift that will refresh Guy and help him keep his body and spirit strong for the years to come."

Kirk Talley's New CD

Kirk Talley has well just put out his net project I think he has ever done. I listened to it on http://www.sogospelnews.com/. I believe this project is great. The title is: Beyond Words. This is his most up beat CD he has ever done. Now nothing can compare to Hallelujah Praise The Lamb or Gimme Gimme Take Take World or Let Me Introduce You to Jesus. Those songs are untouchable. Kirk is still hitting good notes. His range has dropped a lot but he is still a powerful singer.
He is what Krik had to say,"Brand New Project- BEYOND WORDS Kirk says " I am so excited about this release. I finally was able to find songs that encompasses a little bit of every style that I like. Beyond Words has to be my favorite CD released to this date. I think it's the most upbeat project that I have done in a long time. If you aren't moved by "When His Presence Fills This Place", you need a check up! It's the most awesome ballad I have sung in years. I just wish I had written it! Songs Include:Beyond Words,Love Is Strong,I'm Glad,When His Presence Fills This Place,Scarlet Ribbon of Redemption,Keep Puttin One Foot In Front of the Other,Oh How Excellent,Faithful, He Won't Take Back One Promise,Nothing Shall Separate Me,Garden of Grace

The way we look at things.

I would like to talk about on subject and deal with it in whole. It does revolve around Southern Gospel music. I have read other blogs such as A Very Fine Line and Swain's Musings: A Southern Gospel Music Blog. I have noticed there way of dealing with news. Swain is a very good blogger. I enjoy his blog. I check it daily. Yet, with A Very Fine Line I tend to disagree with most of his views on things. He may look at it from the business point of view yet he bashes groups. I want to take a minute to deal with this issue. Instead of bashing a group such as N'Harmony for forming again. Why don't we pray God bless theses men as they do thy work. They have been called to do that.

So we should really pray for the. I am not bashing the writer of A Very Fine Line. I am hoping you'll see the point and do the same as I and pray for them. So sometime this week find time to pray for your favorite group of groups.

Gods Blessings
Hello, welcome. If you look to the left of my blog you will notice two new features. One is a poll of your favorite quartet of old. Also is a video bar. It rotates between Cathedrals Quartet, Gold City Quartet, and Greater Vision. Just click one of the pictures and you will see a video and you can watch them.

God Bless
Brandon
